My daughter has just started full time nursery and she is certainly taking it all in her stride.
She very much enjoys going and playing with all of her friends, some days she doesn’t actually want to leave!
Since I am now spending a lot more time with my 2 year old son, I have begun thinking about looking into childcare for him. As in him attending nursery possibly one or two days a week only for half days just to get him used to the concept and prepare him for when he starts school later next year.
He has been a bit of a handful lately, not listening and running off and I think that hopefully nursery could provide him with some basic discipline as well as providing him with an educational and social environment.
I do struggle to find ways to keep him occupied during the days, yes I take him for walks, to the park, make cakes etc with him but it’s the same every week. I think he could really benefit and enjoy the experience of a nursery setting.
I have only so far made some basic enquiries and have not yet actually visited any nurseries.
Have you put your little ones into pre nursery? What were your reasons? Did everyone agree with it? how did your child find it?
I really would love to hear your opinions before I decide for definite.

  1. I'm a big advocate for nursery – as long as it's the right one for the child and you. I think they learn so much, and especially preparing for school.

Thanks for linking up to #schooldays (it's meant to be school not nursery though).

  2. I've put my son in nursery for 2 mornings weeks I've gone back to work. He loves it! I've been a stay at home mum since he was born and it gives the right work/home balance. Also, his listening and behaviour generally have improved, especially sharing! On his first day he was fine and bow just struts in there, not even looking back as he can't wait to play with the cars!!

  3. We're lucky because Marianna will get a free playgroup place for a few hours a week as we're in a Flying Start area once she turns 2. I think she'd enjoy it now, but we take her to free stuff like the library read-alongs, etc, so she's getting something. x #TuesdayTreasures

  4. I didn't when my girls were younger but that was just down to the money aspect of it. Thinking back now I probably would put them into nursery if I could do it all over again as there is a free nursery for two year olds right next to the schools they go to 🙂 x

  5. My son always went to a childminder, from when i went back to work at 10 months, and he absolutely loved it. Definitely gave him a head start when he started school too. Now with my daughter i'm not working, but think when she gets to 2 i would consider it.

  6. My first child went to nursery from the age of 6 months, my second child started nursery trials at 2 and officially started nursery at 3. I much prefer them starting later than earlier as I think they benefit from your time when they are younger. Give it a go, see it how it works out.

Thanks for join in with #TuesdayTreasures
