PAW Patrol Live, the live on stage adaptation of the highly popular kids show; The Great Pirate Adventure kicked off its UK wide tour in Edinburgh last month and came to The MotorPoint Arena in Cardiff on Wednesday 22nd August.
We were invited to watch the show and I don’t know who was more excited me or the kids! Both my children love Paw Patrol and when I heard that there was a show coming I quickly looked online for more information on the tickets. Unfortunately the price of the tickets made them too expensive for us to buy for a family of four costing
around £120! So to say I was delighted at being invited to watch the show was amazing.
In PAW Patrol Live! The Great Pirate Adventure, Mayor Goodway is getting everything shipshape for a big Pirate Day celebration in Adventure Bay. However, when Cap’n Turbot falls into a dark and mysterious cavern, it’s Paw Patrol to the rescue! Chase, Marshall, Rubb;e, Skye, Rocky and Zuma save Cap’n Turbot and discover a secret pirate treasure map that leads them on an epic adventure.
Over land and across the high seas, the pups set out to find the treasure for Mayor Goodway so the celebration can go on. Things get ruff when Mayor Humdinger wants to find the treasure for Foggy Bottom. The pups need all paws on deck for this pirate adventure, including help from the newest pup who’s all ears…Tracker! Using their heroic rescue skills, problem solving and teamwork, the pups set sail to save the day. No job is too big, no pirate pup is too small!
We were offered tickets for the 10am show. When we entered the arena the stage looked pawsome! Just like off the set of the TV! Full of bright lights and vibrant colours. Ryder was the first on stage where he sang the Paw Patrol song and introduced the pups on one at a time. I have to say the costumes were fab, and even though there were people in the back of them you hardly noticed. I was amazed by how the pups eyes and mouths opened and all of their legs moved when they walked, my son said excitedly when he saw the pups “Look it’s really them”!
The show was jam packed with action and singing and interactive crowd scenes, the kids waved their flags, danced and sang along. When Ryder and Rubble came onto the stage in their vehicles the crowd cheered, I really wasn’t expecting that and it was a fab sight to see. Then to top it off Tracker came out onto the stage to join in the show. Although he may be a new pup he is definitely popular favourite character already.
The show is 75 minutes and there is a 15 minute interval in that time.
In the background there is a large screen which also played parts of the show, showing sky flying through the air and the other pups out on their rescues. All in all a very entertaining and enjoyable production for all the family.
Paw Patrol Live! “The Great Pirate Adventure” is presented by Life Like Touring, VStar Entertainment Group and Nickelodeon.
