Grace Foods Caribbean Food Week

Grace Foods is celebrating its fifth annual Caribbean food week taking place 22-29 August 2016. 


To celebrate Grace Foods have challenged a number of bloggers to create a Caribbean street food party spread.

Armed with my fabulous Grace Foods hamper I set about working on what I could cook. 

My hamper included;
Ginger Beer
Coconut water
Aloe drink
Coconut milk
Peas and beans
Cock soup
Callalou
Jerk now sauce
Various seasonings



My Menu
Starter
Callalou Soup

Main
Hot and Spicy Jerk Fried Chicken served with peas and beans 
And
Jerk Bbq Chicken Tacos

Callalou is like spinach and I used this together with the coconut milk to make a really yummy soup. 


I used the hot and spicy jerk chicken fry mix to coat my chicken before deep frying. 


And I used the jerk seasoning and all purpose seasoning to marinade my chicken in before grilling and serving in soft tacos with a deliscous tomato salsa. 


Overall the variety of food we were sent was fantastic and allowed for creativity when coming up with a menu. 

The callalou soup was extremely yummy and definitely something I would cook up again and the fried chicken was so flavoursome and delicious I could have easily eaten more!
