Bluestone Wales Day 1

We arrive at Bluestone Wales around 2.30pm and there is a slight que to enter the drive in check in booths.

Greeted by a lovely lady who gives us our key cards and guest information we then park the car and head to the adventure centre.

Check in is from 4.30pm and until then the barrier remains down and it is a bit of a mad rush like whacky races when the barrier opens to find your lodge. You can however arrive at the resort from 11am and enjoy all the facilities before you check in to your lodge.

At the adventure centre on the ground floor you can find soft play areas, climbing walls, amusements and even mini golf and a bouncy castle.

Upstairs is where our children love to go the most. In the circus/sensory room. Since our last visit there have been some changes made, for the better. They have introduced a lovely soft play climbing area which is fantastic and both our children loved it!

Our son was particularly keen on the bubble tower with the fish floating around inside it.

After some well deserved play time we headed to the Woody Wild Cafe for some food. I love this cafe as it is somewhat like an enchanted forest with the big tree and magical fairy lights. Food is only served here until 4pm on a Monday so we only had 20 minutes left to order. I'm not sure if this was the reason maybe why our chicken burgers and kids chicken goujons came out a bit dry and hard, but nevertheless the kids enjoyed it especially the chips.

We then made our way to our lodge, we are staying in Bartholomew Rise which has lovely views out towards the lake.

We are staying in a 2 bed Caldey Lodge which really is lovely and bigger than we had expected.

Once we had settled in we decided to wander down to the village for an hour to wear the kids out before bed.

They throughly enjoyed the ride down in the golf buggy, which I'm pleased to say all now come with seat belts.

The outdoor park is really great and there's even a smaller area for little ones to play in too.

After a very busy first day we then returned to our lodge for the night excited at what the next day would have in store for us.
